[ because they don't pay him enough for that, which is rich coming from him, given the aesthetics of his apartment. he's old money rich, or something. anyway, she takes the food and he sets the bags with her clothes next to the couch before pulling off his tie and shedding his jacket. he looks... well, tired, as he usually does, but most of the tension is gone from his frame and when he steps up next to her to peek at dinnerโ ]
No, but you can get changed, [ he says, while taking a seat so he can go about preparing his pho. ] Or sit in my lap if you'd like.
[ is he joking or is he being serious... who knows. ]
( well, he knows damn well that's invitation enough for her, so she'll be taking him up on that regardless of his attempts to get his food ready.
she's at least careful about it, nudging his arm out of her way so she can better sidle on up on his lap like it's where she's meant to be sat anyway. she at least has the propriety not to straddle him (yet), sitting sideways on her throne to better reach up with an arm for his collar to pull him down towards her. all the better to steal away another kiss before it's too occupied with food.
the audacity, as always, is strong as ever with this one. )

[ once aerith settles in his lap, he curls an arm around her back to support her, his palm cupping the flare of her hip. with how readily he does so, it likely suggests that he may have actually been serious about the invitation despite his silence, portioning out the rice noodles to save some for later. he knows himself, after allโhe's not going to be able to sit through a whole meal with her this close, stealing kisses and fiddling with his buttons. such a demanding thing. too bad he's a little charmed by it. ]

he puts his chopsticks down when he finishes and then grips her about the waist to lift her carefully off him without so much as a by her leave, setting her on her feet so that he can clean up. ]
( he's truly so lucky she has the patience of a saint for all her whining, letting him get up without further fuss so he can go about his business for now. cleaning up is a good idea anyway, better than letting it sit there when she finally gets her hands on him properly.
it frees her up to snag the bag he'd set down earlier, wandering off to his room and closing the door behind her with a soft click to announce exactly what she's up to. something to think about.
not that it takes her too long before she re-emerges. just a touch up of makeup and changed out to the verdant dress and heels, hair twisted up to a somewhat messy bun to keep it off of her neck, all paired with a devilishly mischievous grin when she finally presents herself. )
So, ( starting with that always ends well for him, doesn't it. ) Gonna ask me to a dance first?
